A construction worker was seriously injured after falling two floors from scaffolding on a new synagogue site in north London on Tuesday.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service took him to the Royal London Hospital.

They were supported by ambulance workers from voluntary Jewish medical organisation Hatzola North London.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman told the Standard: “We were called at 4.45pm to the junction of Clapton Common and Overlea Road to reports of a fall at a construction site.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a hazardous area response team and London’s air ambulance.

“We treated a man reported to be in his 30s for a head and chest injury.

“He was taken, as a priority, to Royal London Hospital.”UserPostedImage
